VEG - Vehicle Expert Group

The goal of the Vehicle Expert Group (VEG) is to tailor and extend the OSGi specification in order to meet vehicle-specific requirements. To achieve this, the VEG will define a list of topics that cover vehicle-specific issues. For every topic, requirement documentation (including use case) will be written. Together with the Architecture Expert Group, an owner of the topic will be identified. For those topics that have no other owner than the VEG itself, the VEG will specify API's. In case the owner is an existing OSGi group, the VEG will work together with this group to ensure that the product/specification released by this group is vehicle-compliant. The deliverables of the VEG are requirement documentation and API's with a reference implementation and a test suite. According to the OSGi policy, the VEG needs input from automotive, transport and telematics companies, as well as from other OSGi groups and other standardization organizations.
