E-Health MarketHaH - (http://www.hearing-at-home.eu) The European project "HearingatHome", funded by the European Commission in its 6th framework program addresses the strategic objective of Ambient Assisted Living for the Ageing society. The HaH project aims to facilitate communication and the everyday use of electronic home devices for the hearing impaired population. It researches and develops next generation assistive devices that allow the growing number of hearing impaired - which predominantly includes the elderly - equal participation in communication. Deploying OSGi technology, formerly separated devices and services, like the personal computer (PC), hi-fi systems, TV sets, digital cameras, telephones, fax machines, intercoms, and services like internet access, Voice over IP (VoIP), Personal Information Management (PIM), Pay TV, and home automation grow together. They are accessible via a TV set that is connected to a PC or set top box (STB) that implements interfaces to network gateways as well as to home automation scenarios. The TV set becomes the »central Home Information and Communication (HIC) platform« of the household in the communication society. The HIC platform will support the hearing-impaired with easy to configure »supportive audio signal processing (SASP)« and visual support on a TV screen. The project consortium consists of HörTech, OFFIS - Institute for Information Technology, Telefónica R&D, ProSyst Software, Viataal and KTH. InterComponentWare - InterComponentWare, manufacturer of the already available Interactive Health Record LifeSensor, uses ProSyst's innovative open, modular and scalable software technology for its LifeSensor Connector product. LifeSensor Connector is used for secure, bi-directional transfer of medical data between LifeSensor and medical devices. With LifeSensor Connector, physicians can set threshold values and other configuration data of medical devices - which typically are located at the patient's site - directly out of the Interactive Health Record of the patient. Measurement data from the devices are transferred automatically into the patient's health record and can be accessed by the physician. Due to the integration of ProSyst's innovative software LifeSensor Connector includes several advanced OSGi Service Platform-compliant features like XML GUI, SmartCard support, SSL support, secure storage as well as automatic installation and update services. Siemens Med and ProSyst - (www.siemensmedical.com) Siemens Medical Solutions and ProSyst Software cooperated in the development of an innovative solution for the maintenance of medical devices in the area of image management systems. In order to meet the high requirements in the medical segment, Siemens Med used OSGi-based mBedded Server from ProSyst Software. Main reasons to install the mBedded Server were the direct access to an already-in-use, stable and modular solution and the possibility to easily integrate it into the ongoing development process. The integration of the existing applications into the framework resulted only in minimal effort for the developers. |
