CPEG - Core Platform Expert GroupChair
CharterThe OSGi Core Platform Expert Group (CPEG) is chartered to define the core platform specifications and APIs needed to create an open service gateway platform that supports third-party developed services. Development of these specifications and APIs entails the creation of supporting documentation, reference implementations and compatibility test suites. The CPEG is focused on components which form an execution environment for OSGi compliant services rather than components which execute on other platforms related to the OSGi devices (such as management software). These other components are only considered to the extent of their impacts on the core platform specifications and APIs. Technical areas addressed by the CPEG will include the runtime execution environment for OSGi services (such as a framework supporting application lifecycle management and service registry) as well as common, general services necessary to provide a foundational set of basic capabilities in the runtime environment. The CPEG will take technical direction from the OSGi Chief Technical Officer (CTO) and the OSGi Technical Steering Committee (TSC). Links |
